Biography

Serghei Văcaru was born on 17 June 1973 in the village of Dancu, Hîncești district, into a family of workers. He attended the village school, and after graduating he left for Chișinău to study medicine. After his residency he returned home — to the Hîncești District Hospital, where he works to this day.

I have decided to run for the Hîncești District Council because, after twenty-five years in the hospital, I know all too well: medicine is made not only in wards, but also in the councils that vote on budgets.

I was born in Dancu, I grew up here, and for a quarter of a century I have been treating people here. After high school I left for Chișinău to study medicine, and after my residency I came back home — to the district hospital. Not because I had nowhere else to go, but because this is where I am needed most.

If you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: a working cardiology service in the district, so people no longer have to travel to Chișinău when every minute counts; modern diagnostic equipment in the district hospital; real programmes to attract young doctors, so they stay and work at home.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make healthcare in Hîncești a reason to stay, not to leave.

Finally, his choice to treat the people of his native district for a quarter of a century — instead of staying in Chișinău or going abroad — proves his bond with the territory he seeks to represent. He is not running "for" Hîncești from somewhere outside: he is running from its very midst.
