Biography

Alexandru Mereuță was born on 11 November 1992 in the village of Ciorescu, municipality of Chișinău, into a family of teachers. He graduated from the gymnasium in his native village and earned his teaching degree at Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University in Chișinău. After graduating he returned home — to his native school, where he works to this day.

Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Chișinău Municipal Council because school is where the future is decided — and our school needs a voice on the council. For twelve years I have taught at and led the gymnasium in Ciorescu, the village where I was born.

I started as a history teacher in 2014 — in the same school where I had studied myself. I was a form teacher, then deputy principal, and since 2022 I have been the principal. I have walked the whole road — from the blackboard to the staff room — and I know school from every angle.

I live the problems every September: overcrowded classrooms, because Ciorescu is growing; children walking kilometres on foot because there is no school transport; and a gym that can no longer cope. A good school is not built with slogans, but with classrooms, buses and sports grounds.

If you elect me, I will push for the expansion of the Ciorescu school, school transport for all suburban children, and investment in schools' sports infrastructure. Education is the only investment that never depreciates.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make Chișinău's suburban schools a source of pride.
