Biography

Liliana Focșa was born on 29 May 1991 in the town of Codru, Chișinău municipality, into a family of gardeners. After graduating from high school she studied agronomy at the State Agrarian University of Moldova. She worked four years as an agronomist at a greenhouse complex, then rented a hectare of greenhouses, and since 2021 she has run her own greenhouse farm, growing vegetables for the markets of Chișinău.

I have decided to run because I know what it means to grow tomatoes in January and not know whom to sell them to in February. I am a farmer — and I know that our work, the work of those who feed the city, deserves more respect and more support.

I grew up in Codru, near Chișinău. After studying agronomy I worked four years as an agronomist at a greenhouse complex, then I rented a hectare of greenhouses, and since 2021 I have had my own farm: fresh vegetables for the markets of Chișinău, grown by my hands and my family's.

I know that small producers face big problems alone: they have nowhere to sell their produce at a fair price, irrigation water is getting more expensive and scarcer, and a new greenhouse costs as much as a house. That is why, if you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: markets and fairs where small vegetable growers can sell directly, without middlemen; access to irrigation water at fair prices; real subsidies for those who want to build greenhouses — not only for the big farms.

The city eats the labour of the village. It is time the village got something in return.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make the farmer's work respected and rewarded.
