Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Chișinău Municipal Council because family medicine is not practised only in the consulting room — it is practised in the council chamber, where money is allocated and decisions are made.

I was born in Ciorescu, and for almost forty years I have been this suburb's doctor: first a paediatrician, and since 1997 a family doctor. I have watched entire generations grow up: children I vaccinated became parents, and their parents became grandparents. I know my patients not from their files, but by name.

Every day I see the same problems: lonely elderly people whom nobody visits between appointments; newborns whose mothers cannot get to a doctor in time; illnesses we could have prevented if we had serious screening programmes. That is why I will fight for concrete things: a real home-visiting service for the elderly and newborns in the suburbs; equipping the Ciorescu Health Centre with the apparatus it needs; prevention programmes — not on paper, but in every courtyard.

A family doctor knows that health begins long before illness — with attention, with timely visits, with trust.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make sure that in Ciorescu nobody is left without their doctor.

Career analysis

Viorica Ursachi's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

As a resident doctor she worked night shifts in overcrowded wards, alongside nurses and orderlies. That stage taught her what real medicine looks like — not the kind from textbooks, but the kind with shortages, sleepless nights and patients who wait.

Eight years as a paediatrician in Ciorescu taught her patience and attention to detail: a child will not tell you what hurts — you have to read it in their eyes. It was then that she earned the suburb's trust — the mothers of Ciorescu know her by name and recommend her to one another.

Since 1997, as a family doctor, she has seen medicine from both sides: the consulting room and the patient's home. She knows that a timely diagnosis saves years of treatment and that prevention costs ten times less than illness. It is exactly this practical experience that council decisions are missing.

Finally, her choice to stay in Ciorescu for almost forty years — instead of leaving for a private clinic in Chișinău — proves her bond with the people she seeks to represent. She is not running "for" Ciorescu from somewhere outside: she is running from its very midst.
