Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Chișinău Municipal Council because health begins in the family doctor's office — and things are no longer working there.

I have been a family doctor in Codru for fifteen years. I know my patients by name; I know their illnesses and their families. But every day I see the same picture: queues at the door from early morning, appointments booked weeks ahead, elderly people who reach me only when their illness is already advanced.

The problem is not the doctors — there are too few of them, and they are overloaded. A family doctor cannot be nurse, secretary and statistician at the same time. We need more doctors in the suburbs, properly equipped offices, and a real home-care system for the elderly.

If you elect me, I will push for concrete things: new family-doctor positions in the suburbs, organised preventive check-ups for everyone — not just on paper — and home visits for lonely elderly people.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. A city's health is measured by the health of its suburbs.

Career analysis

Nina Stratan's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

She started as a resident doctor on night shifts at a large municipal hospital — where she learned real medicine: a continuous flow of patients and decisions that had to be made fast.

As a therapist at the health centre she learned to follow patients over time, not in episodes: chronic illness, prevention, patience. Family medicine is a marathon, not a sprint.

Since 2010 she has been a family doctor: thousands of patients, appointments, files, home visits, coordination with specialists. That is administrative experience of exactly the kind a municipal councillor needs.

Finally, fifteen years in the same suburb — she knows people by name, and her candidacy comes from a doctor's office, not a bureaucrat's desk.
