Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Chișinău Municipal Council because the internet is no longer a luxury — it is infrastructure, like water and electricity.

I live in Ciorescu and I have worked in telecommunications for almost thirty years: I started as a technician, became an engineer, and since 2010 I have headed the technical department of an internet provider. I know how a network is built — and I know where it does not reach.

In the suburbs speeds are low, coverage is patchy, and schools run on ten-year-old equipment. Children in Ciorescu should not have worse internet than children in the centre — online lessons, digital services and working from home depend on it.

If you elect me, I will push for concrete things: expanding high-speed networks into the suburbs, free fast internet in every school, and real digitalisation of city-hall services, so people no longer queue for a single piece of paper.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. A connected city is a city that leaves no one behind.

Career analysis

Lucia Ciubotaru's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

She started as a field technician — with tools, cables and poles. She knows what real infrastructure looks like, not just the diagrams from the office, and she knows why the signal "gets lost" in the suburbs.

As an engineer she designed and maintained networks — learning systems thinking and the discipline of large projects, where one mistake leaves thousands of people without a connection.

Since 2010 she has headed a technical department: people, budgets, deadlines, unhappy customers. Management experience in a competitive industry is exactly the kind of schooling a municipal councillor needs.

Finally, she lives in Ciorescu and sees the digital gap between the centre and the suburbs every day. Her candidacy is not about abstract technologies — it is about equal chances for suburban children.
