Views and principles
I have decided to run for the Glodeni District Council because a school is not a building — it is our children, and our children deserve more than we can give them today.
I was born in Cajba and for 35 years I have not left my village's school: first as a history teacher, then as a deputy director, and since 2000 as director. Entire generations have passed through our desks — and I know what a school means to a village.
Today I see the problems that hurt us all: in winter the classrooms are hard to heat, the school roof leaks with every heavy rain, and young teachers do not want to come to the village — they have nowhere to live and see no future here. If you elect me, I will fight for: thermal rehabilitation and new roofs for the district's schools, a village museum attached to the school — so that our history is learned, not forgotten — and a real programme to bring young teachers to the villages, with staff housing.
This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. A good school keeps a village alive. Together we will keep it that way.
Career analysis
Ovidiu Lozovanu's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.
He started "from the bottom": as a history teacher he stood before the class and learned to explain, to listen and to inspire. A good teacher knows how to talk to people — an essential quality for their representative.
As a deputy director he learned school administration: timetables, staff, repairs. Then, since 2000, as director, he has managed an entire institution — budget, staff, relations with parents and authorities. Twenty-five years of management in an underfunded system are a school of life for a future councillor.
As a historian he understands that a community without memory has no future — hence the idea of a village museum attached to the school. His vision links the past with the future of the children.
Finally, he was born in Cajba and for 35 years has led his home village's school. He is not running "for" Glodeni from somewhere outside — he is running from the midst of the community he educates every day.
