Views and principles
I have decided to run for the Fălești District Council because I know what it means to build something from scratch in your own village — and I know how many doors get slammed in your face.
I was born in Bocani. At 19 I was selling in a shop in Fălești, at 22 I opened my first bakery here, in the village, and today I run a chain of three bakeries with 12 people earning their bread alongside me. I inherited nothing — I worked for it.
Every day I see the problems: young people who want to start a business but have no access to credit; villages where the only prospect for the young is leaving; local producers with nowhere to sell their goods.
If you elect me, I will push for concrete things: district programmes to support small entrepreneurs and real access to affordable credit; fairs and markets for local producers from our villages; conditions for young people to find work at home, not abroad. A district's economy is built from dozens of small businesses, not from grand promises.
This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make small businesses in Fălești grow big.
Career analysis
Sergiu Malai's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.
He started "from the bottom": as a shop assistant he learned what a customer, a product, and honestly earned money mean. That stage taught him respect for everyday work — a lesson no university teaches quite the same way.
Opening his first bakery at 22, he learned what assumed risk means: loans, suppliers, wages, sleepless nights. Entrepreneurship shaped him into a man who does not wait for solutions from others but builds them himself.
Growing the chain to three bakeries and 12 jobs, he learned to manage people and to take responsibility for his employees' families. A village employer knows better than anyone what a job means to a community.
Finally, his choice to invest in his native village — not in Chișinău and not abroad — proves his bond with the territory he seeks to represent. He is not running "for" Fălești from somewhere outside: he is running from its very midst.
