I have decided to run for the Drochia District Council because safety is not a luxury — it is the right of every person, from child to grandparent. I wore the uniform for 21 years, and I know what it means to protect real people, not statistics.

I was born in the Drochia district, in the village of Ceapaevca. I started as a militiaman, became an inspector, then a senior inspector. I retired in 2006, but I never left the profession: I am a community safety adviser — I travel through the villages, talk to people, teach them how to protect themselves from thieves and fraudsters.

Every day I see the same problems: lonely elderly people tricked by fraudsters who knock on their doors or call them on the phone; villages with no neighbourhood officer, where people do not know whom to turn to; dark streets you are afraid to walk in the evening.

If you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: anti-fraud awareness programmes brought to every village — so that no grandparent is ever tricked again; neighbourhood officers with a real presence in the villages, not just on paper; street lighting in the district's localities — because a lit street is a safe street.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make our villages places where people feel safe.
