Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Dondușeni District Council because agriculture does not wait: when a tractor breaks down in the middle of the season, a farmer has no time for promises. I am a mechanical engineer, and for over twenty years I have repaired farm machinery.

I was born and raised in Baraboi. After university I came back home — here are the fields I have walked since childhood and the people I know from every village in the district.

I see the problems every day: small farmers cannot afford expensive servicing, spare parts are hard to find, machine operators lack modern training. A harvest lost because of one part means a year lost for an entire family.

If you elect me, I will push for concrete things: a district service centre with affordable prices for small farmers; training programmes for machine operators; support for buying spare parts and machinery through cooperatives. The district's agriculture deserves working machinery and skilled people.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make our land work for people, not people work for debts.

Career analysis

Leonid Botnari's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

He started as a mechanic at a machine-and-tractor station: he learned machinery down to the last bolt, with his own hands. Someone who knows work from the ground up understands the real price of everything.

As an engineer he learned to plan repairs, manage spare parts and deadlines, and answer for machinery on which people's harvests depend. Technical responsibility made him a man of precision.

Since 2014 he has led the service centre: negotiating with suppliers, managing the team, answering for the budget. Management experience in a real competitive economy is exactly what a district councillor needs.

Finally, his bond with Baraboi — his native village — and with the district's farmers proves that this candidacy comes from the midst of the community. He is running for people whose tractors he has repaired and whose fields he knows.
