Biography

Dumitru Ureche was born on 27 May 1983 in the village of Bulgari, Leova district, into a family of teachers. After graduating from the Leova high school, he studied at the Academy of Public Administration in Chișinău, which he graduated from in 2005. After his studies he returned to his native village, where he has worked in local public administration to this day.

Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Leova District Council because for twenty years I have worked in the administration of my native commune — from the specialist who receives people at the counter, to the vice-mayor who answers for the budget. I know that our villages' problems are not solved from offices in Chișinău.

I was born in Bulgari. After the Academy of Public Administration I came back home: I was a primăria specialist, then the council secretary, and since 2016 I have been the vice-mayor of the commune. I have signed certificates, commuted on dirt roads, and listened to hundreds of people asking for the same things: tap water, a good road to school, light on the street in the evening.

If you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: piped water in all the commune's villages — drinking water is not a luxury, it is normal; repairing the local roads our children walk to school on; and street lighting, so people feel safe in the evening. And, just as important, transparency for every leu of the budget: people have the right to know where their money goes.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. A district is built village by village, not with promises.
