Views and principles
I have decided to run for the Criuleni District Council because, after 30 years in our polyclinic, I know what truly hurts in the healthcare system: not a lack of goodwill among doctors, but a lack of conditions in which to do their job.
I was born in Criuleni and I stayed here: as a resident doctor, as a therapist, and since 2003 as head of the polyclinic. Every day I see the same things: a building in need of repair, patients waiting months for a specialist, elderly people coming from the villages and going home without answers.
If you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: a full renovation of the polyclinic and bringing specialists to the district; real electronic appointments, so people no longer queue from five in the morning; and a day hospital, so patients receive treatment without being admitted in Chișinău. District healthcare must heal here, not refer onward.
All my life I have cared for people — from my first patient as a resident to the thousands of medical records today. I know what it means to be responsible for a sick person. I will carry that same responsibility onto the council.
This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make the polyclinic in Criuleni a place people come to with trust, not with fear.
Career analysis
Lilia Untila's career is the story of a doctor who never left the place where she started. From resident to head of the polyclinic, she climbed the entire hierarchy of district medicine — and knows every link in it, from the patient's record to the institution's budget.
Two decades at the head of the polyclinic mean two decades of management in a chronically underfunded system: schedules, staff, postponed repairs, decisions made with little money. That experience is exactly the schooling a district councillor needs.
As a therapist, she learned to make decisions under pressure and to take responsibility for people. Medicine does not forgive improvisation — and she will carry that rigour into the council's decisions as well.
The problems she raises — the polyclinic's renovation, specialists, electronic appointments, the day hospital — are not slogans, but the daily to-do list of a hospital manager. On the council she will ask for money for things she knows down to the millimetre.
Finally, she was born in Criuleni and has cared for her neighbours' health for 30 years. She is not running "for" the healthcare system from outside — she is running from its very midst, with her hands still in the daily work.
