Views and principles
I have decided to run for the Edineț District Council because safety is not only the police's job — it is all of ours. And a councillor who has worn the uniform knows exactly where it hurts.
I was born in Edineț district and I have served in the police for eight years. I started as a patrol officer, I was a community officer in our villages, and today I handle community relations and prevention work. I know the district not from an office, but from its streets and courtyards.
Every day I see the problems: children crossing dangerous roads on their way to school; villages with no police post, where people feel alone in the face of trouble; women who stay silent about domestic violence because they do not know where to ask for help.
If you elect me, I will push for concrete things: pedestrian crossings and speed bumps near schools; community police posts in the villages; real programmes to prevent domestic violence and support for victims. Safety begins with trust — and trust is earned through presence.
This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make people in our villages feel safe.
Career analysis
Cristina Ojog's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.
She started "from the bottom": as a patrol officer she was on the streets day and night, and saw the district as it truly is — with its troubles, its fears, and its ordinary people. That stage taught her that order is not imposed by the uniform alone; it is built on respect.
As a community officer she worked directly with villagers: she listened to complaints, mediated conflicts, and was the first person those in need turned to. She learned to listen before deciding — a rare and precious quality in an elected representative.
In prevention and community relations work she learned to build trust between the institution and the community. A police force that only punishes solves nothing; a police force that prevents and explains changes behaviour.
Finally, her choice to serve in her native district — in the villages where she grew up — proves her bond with the territory she seeks to represent. She is not running "for" Edineț from somewhere outside: she is running from the very midst of her community.
