Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Cimișlia District Council because people's health cannot be fixed by a white coat alone. I have seen too many things that a doctor cannot change single-handedly.

I was born and raised in Cimișlia. After high school I left for Chișinău to study medicine, and after six years of university and two years of residency I came back home — to the district hospital. Not because I had nowhere else to go, but because this is where I am needed most.

Every day I see the same problems: understaffed wards, outdated equipment, and young doctors leaving one by one — because they have nowhere to live and see no future here. A hospital without young doctors is a hospital without a future.

If you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: staff housing for young doctors so they stay in the district; modernising and equipping the Cimișlia District Hospital; real programmes to bring specialists to the villages. Healthcare should not depend on how far you live from Chișinău.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make healthcare in Cimișlia a reason to stay, not to leave.

Career analysis

Andrei Ciobanu's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

He started "from the bottom": as a resident doctor he worked night shifts in overcrowded wards, alongside nurses and orderlies. That stage taught him what real medicine in a district hospital looks like — not the kind from textbooks, but the kind with shortages, sleepless nights and patients who wait.

As a therapist he learned to make decisions under pressure and to take responsibility for human lives. Medicine does not forgive improvisation: every wrong diagnosis has a cost, and that rigour made him a man of deeds, not words.

At 28 he became head of a department — one of the youngest in the hospital. He learned to manage people, schedules, budgets and conflicts. Management experience in an underfunded public system is exactly the kind of schooling a district councillor needs.

Finally, his choice to return to Cimișlia after his studies — instead of staying in Chișinău or going abroad — proves his bond with the territory he seeks to represent. He is not running "for" Cimișlia from somewhere outside: he is running from its very midst.
