Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Briceni District Council because I know from the inside why our agriculture stands still: not for lack of land, nor for lack of hardworking people, but because of old machinery and bad roads.

I was born in Balasinești. At 22 I was a fitter at an agricultural enterprise; I learned the trade with my hands, then earned my degree, became an engineer, and since 1998 I have been the chief engineer of an agricultural firm in our district. For 40 years I have lived among tractors, combine harvesters and the people who work the land.

Every day I see the same problems: small farmers with nowhere to repair their machinery, paying dearly for every day of downtime in the middle of the campaign; country roads that even a combine cannot cross after rain; young people leaving because they see no decent job in the village.

If you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: a district service centre with affordable spare parts for small farmers; repairs to agricultural roads — without good roads there is no good harvest; programmes to support jobs in the villages, so that our young people work at home, not abroad.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make the land of Briceni feed people, not statistics.

Career analysis

Calistru Țapu's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

He started "from the bottom": as a fitter he learned machinery with his hands. That stage taught him the essential thing — every machine breaks down; what matters is not who is to blame, but how fast it gets fixed.

As an engineer he learned to make technical decisions and answer for them. In his profession a mistake shows immediately — in the field, in the middle of the harvest.

Since 1998 he has been the chief engineer: nearly 30 years of leadership. People, budgets, machinery — exactly the schooling a district councillor needs.

Forty years in the agriculture of one district: he knows farmers' real problems — not from reports, but from life.

All his life he has been in his native district. He is not running "for" Briceni from somewhere outside: he is running from its very midst.
