Views and principles

I have decided to run for the Stânga Nistrului District Council because the law should not be a privilege of the rich. A pensioner on a small pension needs justice just as much as a businessman.

I was born in Blijnii Hutor and I have worked with the law for over 25 years. I started as a court clerk, saw justice from the inside, and since 2011 I have had my own private legal practice. People come to me when they have nowhere else to go.

I know the problems from case files, not from an office: pensioners who cannot afford a lawyer and are left defenceless; housing disputes that drag on for years; people who cannot get their documents in order because they do not know where to start. Justice delayed is justice denied.

If you elect me, I will push for concrete things: free legal consultations for pensioners — at least once a month in every locality; a district mechanism for mediating housing disputes — faster and cheaper than court; a help desk for getting documents in order, where people are guided step by step. The law must work for people, not people for the law.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Everyone has the right to be heard and defended. Together we can make justice reach Blijnii Hutor too.

Career analysis

Maria Ivanova's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

She started "from the bottom": as a court clerk she saw justice from the inside — with deadlines, case files and people waiting. That stage taught her that behind every case file stands a human fate.

As a company legal counsel she learned the rigour of contracts and the responsibility of one's word. She understood how the real economy works and why businesses need clear rules, not paperwork.

Since 2011 she has had a private legal practice — working directly with people, not institutions. She learned to explain the law in plain language and to defend those who cannot afford an expensive lawyer. Professional independence gave her the freedom to call things by their names.

Finally, she was born in Blijnii Hutor and advises the residents of her home settlement. She is running because she knows that access to justice is also decided at district council level — through budgets and programmes.
