Views and principles

I have decided to run for the District Council because a hospital cannot be fixed with a scalpel alone. I am a surgeon, and for almost twenty years I have operated on the people of this district.

I was born and raised in Hryhoriopol. After university I came back home — I did not look for easier paths, because this is where I felt I was needed most: next to people I have known all my life.

The problems are the same every day: outdated equipment, diagnostics that patients wait weeks for, young doctors leaving because they see no future here. A district whose people travel to Chișinău for a simple examination is a district losing its confidence.

If you elect me, I will fight for concrete things: modern equipment for the Hryhoriopol District Hospital; programmes to attract young doctors — with housing and decent working conditions; accessible diagnostics for all residents of the district. Healthcare should not depend on the distance to the capital.

This candidacy is not about office — it is about responsibility. Together we can make the healthcare here a reason to stay, not to leave.

Career analysis

Alexandr Petrov's career confirms, step by step, the qualities a voters' representative needs.

He started "from the bottom": as a resident doctor he worked night shifts and in the operating theatre, alongside nurses and orderlies. That stage taught him what real medicine in a district hospital looks like — with shortages and with direct responsibility for human lives.

As a surgeon he learned to make decisions in minutes and to own their consequences. Surgery does not forgive hesitation: that rigour made him a man of deeds, not declarations.

Since 2014 he has led the Surgery Department: managing people, schedules, budgets and equipment in an underfunded public system. Management experience is exactly the schooling a district councillor needs.

Finally, his choice to return to Hryhoriopol after his studies proves his bond with the territory. He is not running "for" the district from somewhere outside, but from its very midst — from the operating theatre where he works every day.
